The 5 Fall Wedding Trends You Should Know
The fall is one of the most popular seasons to get married and there are so many trends to pick through to put together your special day! To make things easier, Jay went on FOX 5 DC last week to share all of the hottest trends of this fall season.
Whether it’s to save money or to go for something more simple, couples are in love with the naked cake this season. These cakes skip the fondant and go for an exposed look with less icing. The design and colors come into play not only with the cake's flavor, but floral decorations that capture the depth of fall colors. Couples can use smaller flowers for an even simpler look and greenery as decoration. You can also include a fun topper as we did.
The cake we included in our segment was created by the talented Elite Creations by Trisha and included fresh berries, flowers, and a golden drip design to glam things up a bit.
Popular colors for this fall are jewel tones. That includes deep purples, greens, and gold. You can incorporate these colors into your tablecloths, napkins, and floral arrangements. The beautiful flowers in our design were provided by 73 Daisies and paired together white flowers and a darker pink with the purple flowers.
The great thing about flowers is that you don’t have to limit the type of flowers you use because there’s such a great variety of flowers that are available in multiple colors. We also selected a gold vase for an extra pop of color as gold continues to be a staple fall wedding color.
Interactive food and drink stations are another popular trend that continues to evolve. We featured an interactive cocktail bar that allows guests to customize their drinks with fruits and flavors from rosemary. It can be a great way to get talking and having fun. Other options include a smores bar, a coffee bar, and even a build-your-own taco station.
Another emerging trend is geometric shapes. Our menus, created by Lola Bear Designs add a fun look to the round shapes of plates and glasses. You can switch up the color of your menus to fit your wedding. This trend can also be extended to your invitations. When picking your colors don’t be afraid to go bold and include those rich seasonal colors.
Other tips for fall weddings: Have a backup plan ready if you plan on having an outdoor wedding. You never know when the weather can flip. Also, don’t be afraid to go against the normal expectation of fall weddings; the harvest theme, pumpkins, etc.
